Microsoft Word Shortcut keys

  1. Ctrl+0 - Toggles 6pts of spacing above the paragraph.
  2. Ctrl+A - Select all contents of the page.
  3. Ctrl+B - Bold highlighted selection.
  4. Ctrl+C - Copy selected text.
  5. Ctrl+D - Open the font preferences window.
  6. Ctrl+E - Aligns the line or selected text to the center of the screen.
  7. Ctrl+F - Open find box.
  8. Ctrl+I - Italic highlighted selection.
  9. Ctrl+J - Aligns the selected text or line to justify the screen.
  10. Ctrl+K - Insert a hyperlink.
  11. Ctrl+L - Aligns the line or selected text to the left of the screen.
  12. Ctrl+M - Indent the paragraph.
  13. Ctrl+N - Opens new, blank document window.
  14. Ctrl+O - Opens the dialog box or page for selecting a file to open.
  15. Ctrl+P - Open the print window.
  16. Ctrl+R - Aligns the line or selected text to the right of the screen.
  17. Ctrl+S - Save the open document. Like Shift+F12.
  18. Alt+F - Save the document under a different file name.
  19. Alt+X - Show the Unicode code of a highlighted character.
  20. Ctrl+T - Create a hanging indent.
  21. Ctrl+U - Underline the selected text.
  22. Ctrl+V - Paste.
  23. Ctrl+W - Close the currently open document.
  24. Ctrl+X - Cut selected text.
  25. Ctrl+Y - Redo the last action performed.
  26. Ctrl+Z - Undo last action.
  27. Ctrl+Shift+L - Quickly create a bullet point.
  28. Ctrl+Shift+F - Change the font.
  29. Ctrl+Shift+> - Increase selected font +1pts up to 12pt and then increase font +2pts.
  30. Ctrl+] - Increase selected font +1pts.
  31. Ctrl+Shift+< - Decrease selected font -1pts if 12pt or lower; if above 12, decreases font by +2pt.
  32. Ctrl+[ - Decrease selected font -1pts.
  33. Ctrl+/+C - Insert a cent sign (¢).
  34. Ctrl+'+<char> - Insert a character with an accent (acute) mark, where <char> is the character you want. For example, if you wanted an accented é you would use Ctrl+'+e as your shortcut key. To reverse the accent mark, use the opposite accent mark, often found on the tilde key.
  35. Ctrl+Shift+* - View or hide non printing characters.
  36. Ctrl+Left arrow - Moves one word to the left.
  37. Ctrl+Right arrow - Moves one word to the right.

  45. Ctrl+1 - Single-space lines.
  46. Ctrl+2 - Double-space lines.
  47. Ctrl+5 - 1.5-line spacing.
  48. Ctrl+Alt+1 - Changes text to heading 1.
  49. Ctrl+Alt+2 - Changes text to heading 2.
  50. Ctrl+Alt+3 - Changes text to heading 3.
  51. Ctrl+Alt+F2 >- Open new document.
  52. Ctrl+F1 - Open the Task Pane.
  53. Ctrl+F2 - Display the print preview.
  54. Ctrl+Shift+> - Increases the selected text size by one font size.
  55. Ctrl+Shift+< - Decreases the selected text size by one font size.
  56. Ctrl+Shift+F6 - Switches to another open Microsoft Word document.
  57. Ctrl+Shift+F12 - Prints the document.
  58. F1 - Open help.
  59. F4 - Repeat the last action performed (Word 2000+).
  60. F5 - Open the Find, Replace, and Go To window in Microsoft Word.
  61. F7 - Spellcheck and grammar check selected text or document.
  62. F12 - Save As.
  63. Shift+F3 - Change the text in Microsoft Word from uppercase to lowercase or a capital letter at the beginning of every word.
  64. Shift+F7 - Runs a Thesaurus check on the selected word.
  65. Shift+F12 - Save the open document. Like Ctrl+S.
  66. Shift+Enter - Create a soft break instead of a new paragraph.
  67. Shift+Insert - Paste.
  68. Shift+Alt+D - Insert the current date.
  69. Shift+Alt+T - Insert the current time.
